Depop seller fees in one table

Depop's fees for a US seller come down to two charges: a payment processing fee on every sale, and a boosting fee on sales that came through a boosted listing. Depop charges no selling fee to sellers based in the US, UK or Australia, so the selling fee applies only to sellers outside those countries.

The table lists each fee with the amount and what it is charged on, as Depop's own seller fees page and Boosted Listings Policy state it.

Depop fees for a US seller
FeeAmountCharged on
Selling feeNo Depop Selling fees (0 selling fee for US sellers)Does not apply to US, UK or Australian sellers
Payment processing (Depop Payments)3.3% + $0.45item sale price plus shipping costs and any applicable taxes

Boosting fee, whole shop12%The same basis, for every listing in a boosted shop
Buyer marketplace feeup to 5% of the item purchase price, plus a fixed amount of up to $/£1Paid by the buyer at checkout, not taken from your payout

Depop deducts the fees before sale proceeds are paid to your bank account, so the amount that reaches your bank is already net of processing and any boosting fee.

Depop fee calculation: what Depop takes from a $30 sale

Example: a $30 vintage jacket sold to a US buyer through Depop Payments. The buyer pays shipping with a Depop Shipping label, the listing was not boosted, and sales tax is left out to keep the numbers simple.

  1. Start with the selling fee

A US seller pays no Depop selling fee: No Depop Selling fees (0 selling fee for US sellers). Nothing is taken at this step.

  2. Add payment processing

Depop Payments charges 3.3% + $0.45. On the $30 item price that comes to $1.44. Because the fee is charged on item sale price plus shipping costs and any applicable taxes, the real amount rises a little with shipping and tax added.

  3. Check whether the sale was boosted

If the buyer saw the listing while it was boosted and bought it within 28 days, add a 12% boosting fee on the item sale price (excluding taxes) and any shipping you arrange yourself. This sale was not boosted, so no boosting fee applies.

  4. Work out what you keep

Subtract $1.44 from the $30 sale. Shipping is prepaid by the buyer, so you do not pay for the label out of the sale.

Depop fees compared with other resale apps

The same $30 sale on other places to resell clothes, using each platform's own published US rates. Depop is the cheapest of the group on a sale that was not boosted, because it charges only processing.

  1. Depop baseline $1.44 no monthly plan Processing 3.3% + $0.45 $1.44
  2. Mercari $3 no monthly plan Selling fee 10% $3
  3. Whatnot $3.57 no monthly plan Commission 8% $2.40, Processing 2.9% + $0.30 $1.17
  4. eBay $4.48 no monthly plan Final value 13.6% $4.08, Per order $0.40
  5. Poshmark $6 no monthly plan Commission 20% $6

Assumes a $30 item, buyer-paid shipping left out, no tax, no boosting or promoted listings and a standard US seller account. eBay uses its most-categories rate and assumes the listing is within its 250 free listings a month. Whatnot uses its starting commission rate.

The Depop boosting fee

Boosted Listings is Depop's advertising service. Boosted listings are displayed more prominently than other listings, in boosted tiles marked with a 'Boosted' label. You can boost single listings or the whole shop, and both cost the same for a US seller: 12% for one listing and 12% for a boosted shop.

The fee is paid only when the boosted listing is purchased. It counts as a boosted sale when the buyer saw the boosted listing and bought within 28 days. For a view, simply seeing the boosted listing counts as a view, without a click, so a buyer who scrolled past the boosted tile and later found the item in search still counts. You can stop boosting at any time, but you'll still be responsible for any boosting fees incurred before you stopped.

The boosting fee is charged on the item sale price (excluding taxes) and any shipping you arrange yourself, and it is not charged on Depop Shipping labels. It comes in addition to selling fees (payable outside of the United Kingdom and United States) and payment processing fees. You can boost sellers who have activated Depop Balance, or 28 days after account creation, whichever is sooner. The current policy took effect on 23 March 2026.

Depop pricing for buyers and for sellers outside the US

Buyers pay a marketplace fee of up to 5% of the item purchase price, plus a fixed amount of up to $/£1 at checkout. It is added to what the buyer pays and does not come out of the seller's payout, but it does raise the total the buyer sees, which is worth keeping in mind when you set prices.

Sellers in the UK pay a processing fee of 2.9% + £0.30 and sellers in Australia pay 2.6% + $0.30 AUD, with no selling fee in either country. Australian sellers pay 8% for boosting. Sellers in other countries who sell in another currency pay a selling fee of 10% on all sales and a payment processing fee via PayPal.

Refunds, bundles and when fees come out

When a sale is refunded, all fees are reversed when a sale is refunded, including any boosting fee. The reversal happens automatically for transactions using Depop Payments, so you do not need to contact support to get the processing fee back.

For a bundle, the processing fee is charged once per bundle transaction, not once per item. Selling several items in one bundle pays the fixed part of the processing fee once, which makes bundles slightly cheaper per item than separate sales.

Ways to pay less in Depop fees

Every sale through Depop Payments pays processing, so these tips cut the fees you can control.

  • Boost only the listings that need the visibility. A boosted sale pays 12% on top of processing, and the fee applies even when the buyer only saw the boosted tile.
  • Use Depop Shipping labels on boosted items. The boosting fee is not charged on Depop Shipping labels, so shipping you arrange yourself adds to the fee base.
  • Sell in bundles. The processing fee is charged once per bundle transaction.
  • Price with the fee in mind. On a $30 item, processing is $1.44, and the fixed part weighs more on cheap items.
