Etsy banner size and every other shop image size
The Etsy banner size depends on which banner you choose. The big banner has a minimum of 1200 x 300px and a recommended size of 1600 x 400px. The mini banner has a minimum of 1200 x 160px and a recommended size of 1600 x 213px. Etsy lists the minimum as required, so treat it as the floor and design at the recommended size.

Etsy shop banner: big banner or mini banner
Etsy offers two standard banner styles. Etsy describes the big banner as a large image and the mini banner as a narrow one. A narrow banner takes up less height, so more of your listings are visible without scrolling.
Pick the big banner if your products sell on mood or style, such as home decor, art prints or wedding goods, and you have a wide photo that shows them well. Pick the mini banner if you want shoppers to reach your listings quickly, or if you only have a simple brand graphic with a name and a pattern.
You can also choose no banner at all. Etsy says that if you select None, it listings move higher and the logo becomes the most prominent branding. That works for shops with a strong logo and a full grid of good listing photos.

Open Shop Manager
On Etsy.com, go to your Shop Manager.
Open the shop editor
Under Sales Channels, select the pencil icon next to your shop name. This opens the shop home visual editor.
Choose the banner area
Select Banner to showcase your brand and listings at the top of the page.
Pick a style and upload
Choose the big banner, the mini banner or None, then upload your image. Big banners need at least 1200 x 300px and mini banners at least 1200 x 160px.
Save and check

File rules for Etsy banners, logos and profile photos
These file rules from Etsy's Help Center apply to banners, logos and profile photos as well as listing photos.
- File types: Etsy accepts .jpg, .gif, .png, .svg or .heic.
- Transparency: Etsy says that if a file contains transparency, the transparent parts of an image appear black. Export logos with a solid background color.
- Animated images: animated .gif files and transparent .png files are not supported, so a moving banner will not work.
- File size: Etsy says images larger than 1MB may not finish uploading, especially on a slower connection. It gives this note for listing photos, but keeping banner files small helps too. Export banners as a compressed .jpg.
- Color: Etsy converts images to the sRGB colour profile. Export in sRGB so the colors on Etsy match your design file.
- Resizing: make the image at the recommended size rather than enlarging a small one. Etsy says increasing an image's size can cause lost resolution and pixelation.
Carousel and collage banners on Etsy Plus
Etsy has two more banner styles, the carousel banner and the collage banner, and they are only available to Etsy Plus subscribers. Etsy Plus is an optional subscription that costs $10 a month.
For a carousel banner, Etsy recommends 1200 x 300px. For a collage banner, the minimum size depends on how many images you use: 600 x 300px for 2 images, 400 x 300px for 3 images, or 300 x 300px for 4 images.
