Quick answer
Etsy Plus is an optional Etsy subscription that costs $10 a month. It gives 15 listing credits each cycle, shown as $3 in listings credit and $5 in Etsy Ads credit, plus restock requests, extra shop customisation and unlimited keyword searches in Marketplace Insights. If you would use every credit anyway, the credits cover most of the fee and the rest is what you pay for the tools.

What Etsy Plus is and what it costs
Etsy Plus is a subscription package of advanced seller tools and services. It sits on top of Etsy Standard, the default for every shop, which has no subscription fee on Etsy Standard. Etsy's fee policy says sellers in good standing can opt in.
The price is $10 a month. Etsy takes it from your payment account balance on the same day every month, deducted from your payment account, and local taxes such as sales tax or VAT/GST may be added. Etsy Plus does not change the per-sale fees: every order still pays the 6.5% transaction fee, and a US shop pays 3% + $0.25 for payment processing, the same as on Etsy Standard.
You can cancel any time; access lasts to the end of the cycle. After that the shop goes back to Etsy Standard and the subscription fee stops.
What Etsy Plus includes
Etsy lists two kinds of benefit: monthly credits that offset fees you might pay anyway, and tools that Etsy Standard shops do not get. The table puts each one next to what a shop on Etsy Standard has.
Credits work on a use-it-or-lose-it basis: credits expire at the end of each cycle and do not roll over. They are reset and replenished at the beginning of each subscription cycle.
How the listing credits and Etsy Ads credit work
The listing credits replace the listing fee. Etsy gives 15 of them each cycle, and the fee policy shows them in your payment account as $3 in listings credit. That matches the normal price of $0.20 per listing. The listing fee is charged for creating or renewing a listing; editing is free, and a listing expires after 4 months, so renewals use credits too.
The Etsy Ads credit is $5 each cycle. It pays for Etsy Ads spending inside Etsy. It does not cover Offsite Ads, a fee on orders that come from Etsy's ads on other sites: 15% for shops under the sales threshold and 12%, mandatory for the lifetime of the shop for shops above it.
Both credits only save money if you would have spent that money anyway. A shop that lists a handful of items a month, or that does not run Etsy Ads, gets less than the full value back.
Is Etsy Plus worth it? The break-even sum
The sum below compares the fee with the credits. Example: a shop that would list or renew at least 15 items a month and would spend at least $5 on Etsy Ads anyway, with no local tax on the subscription.
Start with the fee
Etsy Plus costs $10 a month. This is the amount to win back.
Subtract the listing credits
The listing credits are worth $3 if you use all of them, because each one replaces a $0.20 per listing listing or renewal. Example: after this step, $7 of the fee is left.
Subtract the Etsy Ads credit
The Etsy Ads credit is worth $5 if you would have spent at least that much on Etsy Ads. Example: after this step, $2 of the fee is left.
Weigh what is left against the tools
Example: the $2 left is what you pay each month for restock requests, the extra banner and featured-area layouts, the custom colour theme and unlimited Marketplace Insights searches. If you use none of the credits, the full $10 a month pays for the tools alone.
What Etsy Plus costs a shop that uses only part of it
Most shops will not use both credits in full every month. The table works the same sum for four example shops, using Etsy's published amounts. The figures in the last column are example results, not Etsy prices.
Credits that go unused do not carry over, so a quiet month does not bank value for a busy one. A shop that lists more than 15 items still pays $0.20 per listing for each one above the credits.
The tools you pay for with the rest
Restock requests let shoppers ask to hear when a sold-out item is back: shoppers can sign up for an email when a sold-out item is back in stock. Etsy tells them by email once you restock. This helps shops whose items sell out and come back, such as small batches.
Shop customisation covers the banner, the featured area and colours. Etsy Plus adds a carousel banner with up to 4 images that shoppers scroll through, a collage banner made of a banner made of 2, 3 or 4 images, a mixed grid with 1 large listing or section with 4 smaller items beside it, and a custom colour theme for the shop information banner and About section. Without Etsy Plus, the featured area holds 4 listings or shop sections, all the same size.
Marketplace Insights shows Etsy search data for keywords. Without Etsy Plus a seller gets up to 15 keyword searches per week; with it, unlimited keyword searches.
What happens when you cancel Etsy Plus
You can cancel from the Your Subscription page in Shop Manager. Access continues to the end of the cycle you paid for. After that, Plus-only customisation is removed at the end of the cycle, and the banner and featured area go back to the standard options.
Keep copies of any banner images you made for Etsy Plus. Etsy's help page says images uploaded for advanced customisation are not kept if you resubscribe later. Unused credits also end with the cycle.

Describe what you makeQuestions about Etsy Plus
How much does Etsy Plus cost?
Etsy Plus costs $10 a month, taken from your Etsy payment account on the same day every month, deducted from your payment account. Where it applies, local taxes such as sales tax or VAT/GST may be added. The subscription does not change Etsy's per-sale fees, so every order still pays the transaction and payment processing fees as on Etsy Standard.
Is Etsy Plus worth it?
Etsy Plus pays back most of its fee only if you would use the credits anyway. The subscription gives 15 listing credits each cycle, shown as $3 in listings credit and $5 in Etsy Ads credit. If you use both in full, what is left of the fee pays for restock requests, shop customisation and unlimited Marketplace Insights searches.
Do Etsy Plus credits roll over?
Etsy Plus credits do not roll over. Etsy's fee policy says credits expire at the end of each cycle and do not roll over, and they are reset and replenished at the beginning of each subscription cycle. Listing credits that you do not use for new listings or renewals, and Etsy Ads credit you do not spend, are lost at the end of the month.
Does Etsy Plus lower Etsy's transaction fees?
Etsy Plus does not lower the transaction or processing fees. Orders still pay the 6.5% transaction fee, and a US shop pays 3% + $0.25 for payment processing. The subscription only offsets listing fees, through its listing credits, and some Etsy Ads spending, through its Etsy Ads credit.
What happens to my shop if I cancel Etsy Plus?
If you cancel Etsy Plus, you keep access until the end of the cycle you paid for. After that, Plus-only customisation is removed at the end of the cycle, and the banner and featured area return to the standard options. Images uploaded for the Plus layouts are not kept if you subscribe again later.
